Team Terri

Terri Neve was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. After being told her chances for survival were minimal, our family looked for a way to help her fight. We joined with the American Cancer Society in 2011 to help save lives by participating in Relay For Life.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give their time and effort because they believe it's time to take action against cancer. Relay is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Each event is 6-24 hours in length and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Cancer patients don't stop because they're tired, and for one night, neither do we.

Terri went through multiple chemo rounds, numerous surgeries and a constant battle. She knew she would never be cancer free, but she was given quality of life to live hopefully many more years because the American Cancer Society funded the research of a drug she took to help her fight. We were able to walk the track with her for three years where she spoke at relays as a hero of hope before it was a program, shared her story at survivor events, and fought with everything she had to reach the next day.

She passed away in June 2013. She was 56.

Team Terri continues on each year in her memory and has grown to represent so many of our loved ones battling this terrible disease. Since our beginning in 2011, we have raised over $65,000 towards cancer research through the American Cancer Society!
